I applied for a job a couple of weeks ago at a place that does MRIs, Ct scans, xrays etc as a medical receptionist. I got a call yesterday to see if I was still interested in the position & have a job interview in 3 hours.

From what I understand the position is at 2 different clinics & I think you will alternate between the clinics. One clinic is at the local hospital which is only 15 min walk from me. The other clinic is near a private hospital & specialists clinics & I would have to get a bus or taxi to get there.

I'm not sure how I will go but I am just happy to get to the interview stage :). I wonder if the fact I know a little bit about MRIs (afterall I've had about 6 MRIs between 2002 - 2009) would be advantage :pfft:
 
Good luck! After they offer you the job, you can figure out whether the transportation side of it is practical for you. Maybe you can get a jetpack. :)
 
Well had the interview, think it went ok but I was nervous lol. I hate bloody interviews :pfft:. I should know by next week if I got the job.

With the job it is in shifts & you could be working at either 2 clinincs. Some times you may have to start at 7:30am & other times you may not be finished until 10pm. If I were to get the job I would have to catch the bus to the clinic near the private hospital but buses only run approx 8am - 6pm. If I had to start at 7:30am or finish later then I'd have to catch a taxi.
 
It's been 2 weeks since I had the interview & I never heard back so I am assuming that I didn't get the job. I'm not going to get to stressed about not getting the job because I am always happy to get to the interview stage.

I'll just keep doing my voluntary work until that right job comes along.
 
aargh. Do you think it's worth a call, just to be sure?

Nak - When I had the interview they said they'd make their decision the following week (last week) & whoever was successful in the position would start mid November. I didn't hear anything last week so I decided that if I didn't hear anything by this week then there was a good chance I didn't get the job.

I hate job interviews so whenever I do have an interview my goal is to come out of the interview knowing I did my best & if I get the job then that's just the big bonus.Although I would love a job I try not to get to upset or stressed when I don't get a job & I know one day I will find the perfect job :).

In the meantime I will just continue helping at the charity shop which keeps me busy & out of mischief :pfft:.

I am through a disability employment agency who help me look for work. I see my employment consultant at the employment agency every 2 weeks, she is nice but she is also not very bright. My employment consultant is a blonde, I know not all blondes are dumb (I actually know a few very smart blondes) but my employment consultant is your stereo type dipsy dumb blonde lol. Not long after I started seeing this employment consultant & realised she isn't very bright I gave her the nickname 'Blondie' (ofcourse I only refer to her as Blondie when I am speaking to family or my friends :pfft:):roflmao:. I find it quite amusing that I seem to be smarter then 'Blondie' but at times it is also frustrating because I sometimes have to try to explain things to her :pfft:.

Oh dear, that's unfortunate to know that your career prospects may rest in her hands. I remember the kids in my high school felt the same way about our college guidance counselor (also a blonde), although it could well have been that we were snotty self-important adolescents...

Blondie does find me jobs but half the time they're not suitable eg- I don't have the proper experience required for the position or they are to hard to get to. I guess I'm fussy but I only go for jobs where I think I might have 1/2 a chance of getting it & if it is easy to get to.

My sister is a recruitment officer so she helps me with application letters & gives me interview tips. Blondie often emails me jobs which she thinks might be suitable, I usually look at the job & if I think it may be OK I email it to my sister for her opinion.

I was just thinking next time I have to go to see Blondie my employment consultant, I should wear my epilepsy shirt which says "Epilepsy is just proof of having a brain. What proof do you have?" :roflmao:.
