I have a phone interview today. Once again I have gotten dressed and taken a shower

I'm just wondering should I come clean in the interview and let them know of my condition? Tell then that stess is a major trigger and if I cluster and take a lorazepam i'm unable for 3-4 hours? or do I keep it quiet and tell them if they offer me the position? When I was seizure free I would tell the interviewer but let them know it was controlled by medication. Now its a little different

What do you think?

I would wait until they offer you the position. You are obviously capable of working or you wouldn't have applied. Good luck, I wish you every success.

I agree with Sandie, good luck! You're way overdue for some good things to happen!

agree with the others pita. Hope the interview goes well.

Well the interview came and went. Of course they won't hire me on the spot for all they know I might be a serial killer! but I feel it went well now comes the waiting game. I'll keep you posted.

good luck buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'll think of you and cheers (hehe prob more than once) for you when i'm in sunny palm desert as of tomorrow night!
hot tub? a little vino? pina colada? you name it!!

I'm jealous Its cold and damp here when its supposed to be sunny and warm!

Have great time friend!!

As an epileptic and someone who is in the middle of hiring someone right now, if they offer you the job I think that it would be only fair and right to both you and the employer to tell them. If you have a seizure they need to know that you are going to need some time. Also it is no good having to keep a secret in the work place. I know that it is different but everyone in my work place knows that I have epilepsy but then I'm the boss. Heck we had Purple Day signs up last March. However, even when I was an employee and not the boss I made sure that people knew because again, I didn't want to work in a place where i was having to keep a secret so fundamental about myself. Remember we don't have to be ashamed of ourselves.
Good look - I so hope you get the job!!!!!!

I have always told my employer even when I was seizure free I still told them of my condition. My concern was if I told them that I'm haveing 2-3 seizure a day and sometime more when they cluster we all know if they narrow it down to 2 people 1 with E and 1 without we alll know who they are going to hire.

Good luck. I had a boss one time tell me that you wait until you have that offer in your hand before having that discussion. At that point it would be clearly discrimination if they rescinded the offer. It a fine line to walk because a wheelchair you can see but well in our case we are less visual..........

Hi I completely understand your quandary and the reality is that you should be judged on your skills to the job not on whether or not you have E. I agree with the others wholeheartedly. I would not bring up that you are epileptic until you are hired. After that then you should just like you would if you had severe diabetes or a severe allergy - any medical condition that the employer may have to deal with at the job site.

Sometimes it doesn't seem fair we have to handle all this extra stress when looking for a job is stressful enough. Especially when you said that stress causes you more difficulties. Good luck. Can't wait to hear how things go. :hugs:

I agree with the majority. No need to say anything, you may not even have a seizure...ever again. Atleast thats what I hoping for you as well as you getting the job. Goood luck and GOD bless you!!!
keep us posted : )
