I know that many of us have had alot of our freedoms and other things taken away from us because of our epilepsy. If there was just one thing that you could have back, what would it be?

I wish I was able to drive. I hate having to ask people to take me places. I would love to beable to just run out to the grocery store if there was something that I needed and not having to wait until someone else is going and hitch a ride.

I have to try to schedule dr's appointments around my husbands work schedule so that he can take me. If I can't get one when he's off then he has to take the day off so that I can go.

I would love to just do something at the spur of the moment, something that just comes to mind. Go out and get my hair cut, go to the mall, get my nails done or pretty much anything that I am thinking about doing and just go out and do it.

Most all of my friends live about an hour away. To have a girls night out means that they always have to drive here to go out, we couldn't just meet somewhere in the middle.

What do you wish you could have back if you didn't have epilepsy?

Definitely driving.

I wanted a 70 lb table this weekend, and no one was free to help me go get it. No way could I carry it the mile I have to walk from the bus stop home. So no table. I don't go out with my friends and family, either. It's too far for them to come get me. i'm pretty much too tired to take the bus anyway. Yeah, I want to drive. :(

It would be driving for me too.

I live fairly close to a shopping mall so if I feel like it, I can walk to the mall as long as I don't plan on buying many things. I'm also not far from a Starbucks where I meet with friends on Friday's and Saturday's. But when it comes to getting to see my doctors, that's a big time hassle. Once in a while a friend or family member may come down to take me to my dr.

I would love to be able (or should I say "allowed") to drive. I'm in my mid 40's and never been married. The city where I live doesn't have public transportation so I gotta have my parent's who are in their early and late 70's take me to get anything I need. I am worried because they are not the safest drivers any more.
I am becoming a hermit and I HATE IT. I can't go anywhere to meet people. Anytime I try internet dating I am matched with women who live 25-100 miles away and how can I ask them to come that distance to meet me someplace I have to walk to.
I am lucky enough to have a full time job and be in a vanpool to get me there.
Yes I must say I would do just about anything to drive.

I am lucky enough that I do drive, but not at night due to photosensitivity issues. I miss going to the movies so much...just not the same watching it at home.

Scuba Diving. I love diving so much that if it wasn't for my daughter or my husband I would risk dieing to do it again.

To be able to stay out late and have drinks with my friends, at a party or the pub..

I hate only being able to have one drink (if my seizures have been okay lately)and then always being the first one to leave so I can get enough sleep..

It affects my wife too as she has to drive me around.

I've never stayed to the end of a party. I wonder what it's like.

Aicila
scuba diving was something I always wanted to do too. Yes I must say scuba diving or sky diving or who knows maybe both.

My ability to concentrate is what I miss the most. It is so bad some days that I just take off work early because I can't get anything done anyhow.

I understand the driving thing. Luckily I have been able to drive most of the time. I think maybe 4 or 5 stints of a few months over the last 29 years. During those times, I sure understand the frustration.
