Hello. I am a new Keppra user. I've seen a few posts on this site about it causing hair loss. If that is the case, why is hair loss not listed as a side effect on sites like drugs.com, epilepsy.com, webmd, wikipedia, my prescription print out, etc.? Knock on wood but I haven't noticed any hair loss yet (I'm a male in my early 40's, if it matters). I'd hate to lose my hair being that I have a large scar from brain surgery so I was just wondering how common it was.

Thanks!

I've heard that a few times on here, however it's not listed as a side effect, and I've been on Keppra quite a while now and haven't experienced any hair loss. If anything, it's actually growing in thicker and faster than before I started it. I think it really depends on the individuals biology and diet more than anything else. :)

I've been on 3000 mgs. Keppra for over 12 years now and haven't notice any hair loss.

Ive been on Keppra for 13 years now and just this past year Ive noticed a loss of more hair when I comb my hair or after washing it. I dont know if its related to the Keppra, but thats one question I plan to ask my doctor when I see him at the end of august.

I only have been taking Keppra for about 2 months. I don't know if that's long enough to see/feel any side effects, so I don't know if my option means anything. Anyways,
The only thing I notice is that when I brush my hair there's more on/in my brush brissels the same while I m taking a shower, there's more hair.
I don't know if it's the Keppra or not.
I don't mind losing a little bit of hair, my hair is thick and curly. Hahahahaha

I've been on Keppra for 4 years & haven't noticed any problems with hair loss.
