I have just weaned myself Keppra and now I am on lamictal. In the past week I have experienced numbness in my face, then my neck, back and legs. The first day I left work and I was studdering. Since then every morning my face is numb every morning. I called my nuero and he wants to do a blood test. Does anyone know why or what he is looking for? He lowered my dose to 150 until he gets the results.

What dosage of Lamictal were you on before he had you taper to 150mg?

I was only on 200, I haven't heard from the dr in two days. My face is still numb and ears are still ringing.

I haven't had those side effects on Lamictal, but other people have reported similar side effects, so it is likely to be the cause. Your neuro probably wants to do the blood test in order to see if your Lamictal blood serum level seems very high.

Apparently, my last post didn't post. Still have a little numbness and slight ringing of the ears. Didn't hear from th dr for three days. So I called the office. Surprising the dr callede back instead of the assistant. Which increases my trust in him. But he said my levels are within range 5.5. The range is 2-20. So he is going with the dosage of 150 mg. He docent want my levels too low. If I continue to have these issues he told me to call him back. Which they have reduced by still leangure. I know it takes time for meds to stabilize. So here's hoping!
