Today starts my adventure with Lamictal. I start with 25mg this morning then add 25 mg a week untill I reach 150mg 2x a day. Here's hoping that it is good to me. Here's hoping that the side effects are minimal. Here's hopeing that this new relationship is one that will be built on trust and admiration! I promise to take it every day. All I ask from it is that it helps me get my life back! So Lamictal here I come!

I really hope it works for you. I am a huge fan of Lamictal. It is also a mood elevator which has helped battle the suck that is Keppra. Before my neuro suggested trying it I was on 4,000 mg of Keppra and depressed as hell. I didn't want to do anything because none of this matters. Now, I'm back to my old self!! I'm happy, hanging out with friends and family again. It has been a life saver. I wish you the same luck. Let us know how it goes.

Good luck with the Lamictal! It works for me, though as with all the meds, there are side effects. I ended up stopping short of the 300mg/day dose that my neurologist wanted me on. Not saying that would be true for you, just letting you know that that can be a possibility.

I'm weaning off tegretol and on to the lamictal at the moment too. Today I hit the 50 Mg in the am and 75 in the evening mark. I've noticed I'm more jerky and have less balance, but that could be a host of other things. I really want this to work though, because three next attempt would be keppra and with my history of depression, that idea scares the living crap outta me. So yay for lamictal.

Good luck with the start of Lamictal! My daughter is ramping up her Lamictal XR - she is currently at 150mg and will reach her therapeutic level at 175mg. Let us know how it goes :)

I thought I would just make this my Lamictal journal so those of you who are interested can follow me through my 7 week journey rampping up on Lamictal.

I will add 25mg tonight will make 50mg per day and so far no rash. Only side effect I have noticed is a couple of really bizzare dreams. Is that the Lamictal or something else talking?:ponder: Oh well one week down 6 to go untill target dose.

It's the Lamictal. I had that side effect for a few months, then it went away, and my sleep became much less restless.

When I first started on it, I had the most vivid dreams. I would wakeup and would go on and on telling my wife about them. It was really quite wonderful, kinda miss it but I have always been pretty good at recalling my dreams.

I also had a few lucid dreams, which are the best. There is nothing like knowing your dreaming and then start to take control of it. I use to have a lot of lucid dreams as a kid. These days, not so much.
