then get bad depression feeling when it first started it was awful so went to doc`s who gave me carbamazepine XR 200mg twice a day , been on them for 2 months odd and had
all the worst side effects but it helped with belly/depression feeling so i throught i would try to lessen the side effects i would take the 200mg carbamazepine XR at night and 200mg lamotrigine in the moring but the strange feelings have slowly come back has anyone had the strange side effect
if so did anything help also while i was on the 200 mg lamotrigine i use to get
night time attacks but no day time ones could the regular attack caused the change in the lamotringe side effects one other thing last year i had 2 attacks where i completely passed out this had never ever happened the only change i did was started taking multivitamins and fish oil about 2 weeks before ,the first attack was on my treadmill but the second was on my motorbike thankfully i going pretty slow i did bang the side of face not sure if those two things had anything thing to do with it THANKS FOR READING

I take lamotrigine as well, that sick feeling in your stomach tended to go after about two weeks for me, nothing seemed to help me, if I am honest I think I would look to come off it all together. I would have another talk with my doctor and tell him everything, even the small things. The changes in the seizures need to be discussed with your doctor.

Hi bluezola --

What kinds of feelings in your belly were you getting? Was it like indigestion or heartburn? Some kinds of stomach feelings (like a feeling of dread/nausea) can actually be seizures rather than side effects. If it's the latter, then it's possible that the stomach stuff was a new kind of seizure, and the carbamazepine helped a bit to treat it.

I haven't experienced depression or gut issues on lamictal, but everyone is different. Let your neuro know that you are still being bothered by those side effects.

I am on lamotrigine. I am down to 2 tablets a day. I hate the stuff!! My neurologist helped me get down from 4 pills a day. I wanted to get off it all together but I did not succeed.

I had bad side effects. I don't remember what they were because of my Parkinson's Disease.

If you try to get off of it have your neurologist help you. Don't try it yourself. I tried at first to do it myself but I just got worse.

When the neurologist helped me, I did not have any problems. I feel a lot better.

I've been taking lamotrigine since Oct. 2013. I had some blurry vision for a couple weeks. I've lost 30-35 pounds since I started taking it, most of in within the first 6-7 months. I think it relieved the bad nerve pain in my leg which allowed me to be more active. I don't think the extra activity could be the entire reason for the weight loss though. I think a lot of it was the lamortrigine. I was afraid to try it because I read it could cause weight gain. I do think it might be beginning to effect my memory and spelling. I sometimes forget how to spell 3 and 4 letter words. My doctor seems to think the nerve pain relief is from the supplement curcuimn I take everyday. She had me increase the amount of curcuimn I take.

My neurologist has always told me that if tablets cause depression of any kind, you need to come off them.

I have awful headaches, which have got worse with lamotrogine, and sometimes pain in the stomach aches.

If you have stomach aches, there is a test you should have. It is a CTscan that shows up all of the organs in the abdomen and pelvis.

I went to my OB-GYN doctor who turned out to be a mid wife. She asked for the test and marked the Doctor's name.

I told my regular doctor and he wanted to do the test. I had never heard of it before. The results, I have scarred kidneys. It is from Gabapentin (Neurontin) or Keppra. My neurologist took me off of 2 of my Neurontin and my pain went away.

I have been cutting back on lamotrogine. I am on only on 2 pills a day now.

What other medicines are you on?
