Last shower for a few days!

Just enjoyed my last shower for 72 hours. They are coming tonight at 530P to wire me up for the Ambulatory EEG. This will be the 4th EEG of the year
1 normal. the second was an extended 3rd was 5 day video EEG. now this. So MR. Epilepsy If you are in there please please show yourself on this EEG. :brain:

OMG it been about 36 hours and I can't believe how much my head itches!! I don't remember it being this bad after 5 days. I've had 2 seiz oops I mean episodes. i've been smelling cigarette smoke the last 2 days and it really bothers me. I don't smoke have'nt for 10 years. 36 more hours and Thanksgiving dinner comming up. We'll see what today holds!

Good luck! I too am hoping for some seizure activity during my upcoming EEG. Well, actually not really... The less activity, the more likely I'll be able to drive again (the amount I've been having has dropped significantly since starting on Lamictal)

About 30% of people with seizures don't have seizure activity show up on an eeg. The activity is too deep in the brain to measure. If you are hoping for measurable seizure activity, then I hope that for you, too!

Yep, those electrodes can drive you crazy. Mine did me. Most doctors won't let you take an antihistamine (might affect the results), scratch your head with a pencil (could loosen the electrodes), or apply itch cream (for obvious reasons). Hey, when you are all done with the eeg, if you can't get their electrode glue off, use olive oil and lots of it. work the glue globs between your fingers adding more and more oil. I really do wish the technicians would remove it all for us. I hear some do. Mine didn't.

A rub-down with dry oldfashioned oatmeal feels lovely when you can't shower. It's not exactly like a shower but it does a little something. Just don't put it on your head, lol...

Yep the tech told me I'm on my own to get the electrodes off. They did provide the fingernail polish remover and cotton balls. I will give the olive oil a try also.
