Hi finalpoet,

Personally I don't feel that partial seizures are life threatening as long as they are under control. I've had complex partial seizures and one thing my neuro told me is that in some cases if I have many of them it can cause more brain damage which can lead me to having tonic clonic seizures but that hasn't happened to me at all and I've had complex partial seizures for 43 yrs.
Then only type of seizure that I've heard that can be a danger is status seizures and that's when a seizure can last for minutes to hours. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue

If you experience impaired awareness during partials, there could be a danger depending on the context (driving, crossing the street, cooking at a stove, etc.).
