Hey all,

Just touching back with everybody...

I've been off of meds for 7 months now with no TC's. I have JME and am still severely effected by the myoclonics, but does anyone have stats or thoughts on if TC's can just stop permanently? I've had 'very bad days' where my nerves would come in and I have migraines which in the past would lead to a TC, yet they don't anymore. It's like my 'treshhold' has been super high since June of last year... can it stay that way? What are the actual odds of someone 'growing out of TC's?'

There aren't any hard numbers for remission with epilepsy, particularly for just one kind of seizure vs. another. Generally, the odds against remission are worse if you've had high initial seizure frequency, status epilepticus, and/or poor-to-no seizure control with meds.

That said, I think it's great that you haven't had any tonic-clonics -- keep up the good work! I hope the myoclonics get under control soon too. Maybe the meds you were on were actually causing the tonic-clonics -- it happens for some folks.
