I sat down with my husband and made a list of symptoms for each of his varying stages, so I was going to see if I could get some help on trying to pin this down. [I know none of you are doctors, i'm not asking for a diagnosis, just some advice.]
*Before any of these happen, he gets "heated up" out of nowhere, he gets flushed [like all of the color runs out of him] and then he gets deep purple under his eyes like he's really, REALLY tired or like he's been punched in the eyes.*
#1) "Starey"
~ feels like a really strong "buzz" [alcohol]
~ happens randomly, out of nowhere.
~ sometimes just this feeling, but eventually leads up to another level.
~ can hear pretty clearly, but has "foggy" thinking/speaking abilities.
~ can hear, but can't "focus" on what is being said.
~ confusion during/after.
~ muffled communication/can't really understand him.
~ eyes move around.
#2) "Tingly"
~ sometimes feels "waves".
~ eyes move around.
~ feeling goes from toes to head, then back & forth during.
~ "whooshes" of heat/with tingles most of the time.
~ "it feels like taking a bunch of blankets off, then putting them back on repeatedly." - husband.
~ right before feels "fight or flight" - sudden feeling of "doom."
~ numbness/tingly feeling.
~ confusion right before/during/after.
~ things sound normal, but can't focus and thinking is still foggy.
~ can somewhat communicate, but when able to is hard to understand, grunting, muffling.
~ can move arms but feels "muddy" - slow motion.
~ can't walk.
~ can't control self/motions/confusion level.
~ "wavers"/"feels like falling over" - dizzy/surroundings are "dizzy."
~ feels like stumbling/tuck&roll.
#3) "Falling"
~ everything in the 2nd category "tingling"
~ BUT ADD, sensation of falling/sudden drop, but all still while having tingling sensation.
~ "feels like an adrenaline rush" whoosh.
#4) "Pass Out"
~ "fight of flight" then pass out.
~ tenses up.
~ can't communicate at ALL.
~ unresponsive.
~ eyes move around.
~ legs/arms/hands "twitch & jerk."
~ limbs end up in weird positions like one tensed while the others are jerking/twitching.
~ doesn't remember right before, during or a little bit after.
~ very confused after/very VERY tired.
* All of them seem to come in clusters of usually 2-3, sometimes 3-4 on a bad day.
*Always has severe fatigue after a big cluster.
* EYES ARE ALWAYS OPEN. Even if he feels a warning sign and tries to keep them closed, they pop open. He always looks terrified, so I just try to comfort him.
Any help is appreciated!
