After a Tonic Clonic this last summer, I had to go on short term disability from my job. This was due to state law's regarding driving, and I was a salesman on the road 5 days a week. The partials have not gone away though I'm now on 2 different meds and have had 3 eeg's (all showed nothing). As of January 4, 2014, I will lose my position with my company because my short term disability will have run its course, and I'm still not allowed to drive. This means no more income, and all benefits will be lost. My meds will start to run almost $600 per month, which I don't know how i will afford. I've looked into the cockamamey healthcare law but haven't been able to access the stupid exchange. I just don't know what I'm going to do. I have an appointment with my neurologist this afternoon and I'm going to go over all of this with him. If he doesn't have any options then I'm going to ask him to start to taper me off all meds so come the 1st of the year I won't go status.

Any input from you all will be appreciated and a big help. I'm at a loss...

Maybe you can find some seizure control with less expensive meds like Dilantin (which no longer have an active patent and therefor are relatively inexpensive)?

I was granted Medicare. Maybe your doctor could get the ball rolling that direction.

I've heard warehouse pharmacy's like Costco have cheaper prices.

Sometimes other pharmacy's will price match to other competition.
