Lost my bladder!!!

I lost my bladder when I had my last seizure 2 days ago, this was the first time that's ever happend to me in my 9 years with epilepsy.

I believe I was asleep when it happened, but I'm not positive about that because I usually have partical seizures so I blank out during them and don't know anything that's going on around me so it's sort of like I'm asleep any ways.

I woke up and thought my back and pants were covered in sweat because it's so hot around here right not. My husband noticed it and when I went to change into another pair of pants we saw that the whole crotch of them was wet and the couch, where I was sleeping, was soaked too.

I think I was having small seizures all day long, just little ones where I wasn't feeling right and not blanking out.

I haven't had any med changes so I don't think that would be something that could have caused it.

I see the neuro in about a week and a half so I'll beable to talk to him about it then.

I know that others on here have said that they will loose their bladder when they have a seizure but has anyone had this happen all of a sudden out of no where? I'm afraid that when I have another seizure that this might happen again.

I only have seizures in my sleep, always tonic clonic and I piss myself most times. Was more embarrassed than anything but nothing you can do about it other than buy a mattress protector. Chin up

I don't think it necessarily means that it will happen again. It could just be an isolated experience. Maybe because of the heat, you were drinking a lot of water, so your bladder was more ready to let go?

I always drink a ton. I'll bet it's close to half a gallon a day, and I'm not exerating. I pee constantly all day and poop too, my husband actually complained about how much toilet paper we go through. I don't know if it's the meds that I'm on make me do that or not.

I haven't had another seizure since but I hope this was only a one time thing.

Lol. You can buy a new one on E-Bay. Sometimes you get a kidney free. I'm still waiting for them to sell brains....

You could try setting an alarm to wake you and prompt you to go to the toilet or you could get some of those light bladder leakage pads.

Wanted to let you all know that I found it!!!!

The cat hid it in a cubord. I threw it in the wash to get it cleand up and hung it up to dry. Didn't want to throw it in the dryer cause it might have shrunk.

I'm just not sure how to put it back in? Someone told me it's just like changing oil but I usually go to Jiffy Lube to do that. Wonder how much they'd charge, or if they'd even do it?

I do have one of those alarms Wobblez. We got it after our basement flooded. I might stick it in my underware just to be on the safe side for the future!
