While learning to deal with epilepsy, I have found that writing has been great in getting my feelings out. After visiting many website forums about epilepsy, I see that many people write poems and short stories of a particular incident that gave them hope and inspiration.

In honor of November 2013, Epilepsy Awareness month, maybe we can all share a poem or a inspirational moment that we experienced that gave us hope and strength while dealing with epilepsy.

A few months after getting diagnosed with epilepsy I got incredibly depressed and wrote this poem for me, myself, and I.

Having epilepsy has brought me
weakness, so I believe in God
to give me guidance,
in effect I have gained
strength and learned acceptance.

I may have epilepsy, but epilepsy does not have me.
