Meds causing acne?

I am on 200mg Lamictal XR. Started these meds at the beginning of Sept.

I've been having acne, even when I was on a lower dose. The pimples are the huge cyst-like kind. Nothing ever really pops. They look terrible and are mostly along my jaw line and under my chin/neck. A few have appeared on my cheeks.

Has this happened to anyone else? I just turned 40, why is this happening now?

I wouldn't call this a rash at all. Just bad skin, lol.

Look into the fact that meds can cause an increase in yeast/fungal imbalance in the body. Find ways to target that and you most likely will see a reduction in skin problems.

I am on lamictal too, but have also experianced the "acne" but on my forehead. I know what you mean but miy break outs have always been like that. painful and large, but nothing else. So I don't know whether this is a side effect or not *just broke out again on thursday* as it doesnt happen often. maybe one break out a month.

Lamictal is definitely the culprit, acne's a known side effect. Same thing happened to me, and it also happened when I was on Dilantin. I've tried all sorts of things, but no success in getting it to go away entirely.
