Finally saw my neurologist on Friday, it went ok he raised my meds, gave me a script for Klonopin for the days I felt off or had to fly, took down some info, but didn't ask many questions, and seemed in a hurry to get to lunch, I guess I'm gonna see how things go for awhile, I've got mixed feelings about this, he's way better than the last doc, but obviously never looked at my medical records or he'd of known I was on Klonopin once, it worked great but eventually lost its effectiveness because I took it every day. I'm gonna avoid a repeat of that mistake because I believe it really does help in certain situations like flying. Anyways I am doing better, so I guess I'll stick with this Doc for now, not sure if an epileptologist would be the best choice for me, as I also have Essential tremors. The good news Friday was my MRI was normal.

Abynorml, hi!
Go Go Go!! If you can get a referral to an epi, absolutely! I can't recommend it enough.
Bloody neurologists- not only can I complain about my own experiences but have read the same on here LOTS. They always seem to be in a hurry (and he had to get to lunch?! what an a-hole) or just want to either go 'yeah okay' and give meds and you're out the door, or argue with everything you say. It's so frustrating.
I noticed on your profile that you haven't been diagnosed yet, so not sure if you can get a referral to an epi yet unless that's the path you're on, however, considering their field a regular neuro is supposed to be more than 'okay.' They should be the best, and I didn't feel that way until I met my specialist. So worth a shot if they'll do it.

I have and haven't been diagnosed, technically the doctor has said its epilepsy but has said any particular form other than most likely it being something like JME.

I would agree with qtowngirl and go if you get the chance. I had put it off for several years and just kept going to the local guy. Now I am scheduled for a week long video eeg at the University of Chicago hospital. While I am not looking forward to the boredom, I am looking forward to getting this thing pinned down to a more definate location. At least I hope too! Best of luck :)
