HI

and if whats it`s been like for you

bluezola

I have been on Lamotrigne and Tegretol and had the headaches but they went, the weight is another thing however, otherwise it was ok.

Hey bluezola,

Tegretol (carbamazepine) can reduce Lamotrigine serum concentrations by approximately 40%. Did your neuro adjust the Lamotrigine dose after adding the Tegretol? If not, some of the side effects could be due to having less Lamotrigine working in your system all of sudden.

Sometimes it can take a few months before the brain adjusts to a new med. Keep track of your side effects, let your neuro know if they persist or get worse. There are about 20 anti-seizure meds out there, so if the carbamazepine continues to make you feel lousy ask your neuro about trying something else.

I'm on Lamotrigine and Carbamazepine now, and I only have a few side effects with them, I get double vision from time to time with a headache, and can get tired easier.

But compared to the other med's I've been on through the years, they've worked best so far to control my seizures. I'm still having them, but not as many as I was having with the other med's I've had to take.
