Having a MRI today. A little aprehensive. Its been about 12 years since my last MRI. Is it like I remember? An hour or so stuck in a tube cant move and lot of noise? I think I've been having auras (simple partials) He wants to rule every thing else out before sending me back to the Neurologist

I had one about a year and a half ago and that sounds about right. Pretty boring and a nightmare if you are claustrophobic (thankfully I'm not.) I think I nearly dozed off. Lying down plus white noise sounds = opportunity for catnap.

Yep just as I remember. Thanks for your reply in the middle of your ordeal!

Good luck with the MRI.
MRIs don't worry me to much which is a good thing because I had 6 MRIs in 9 years (4 of those MRIs were done between September 2010 & June 2011).
The main thing which I don't particularly like about MRIs is that they can get boring so most of the time I ended up having a nap which made the time go quicker.

Just as I remember it. got in alittle cat nap untill they shot me with the contrast. However I got to listen to music durring the MRI. Definatly helped with the aprehension.

With my 1st 2 MRIs which were done in my hometown I didn't have any music, the 1st ever MRI I amused myself because all I could see was the ceiling & spent most of the time trying to work out why some of the ceiling was different color. Took me a while before I figured out I was looking at a mirror which reflected onto the door & walls :roflmao:

With the MRIs I had in 2010 - 2011 which were done at a hospital in the city I did have the option to listen to music or watch a DVD if I wanted to.

I hope it goes well. I'm having an MRI of my shoulder tomorrow. Not looking forward to it...

Why is it when they tell you to hold very still and then you nose itches!!! Drove me crazy as the tech told me the next set of images should take about 10 minutes! I should have the results later this week. Nakamova, Good luck to you tomorrow.

When i'm at the dentist or in an MRI, I amuse myself by deliberately having dirty thoughts. I like to see if they can pick up the spike in my dopamine (love chemical) levels lol!!

Pita -- thanks for the good wishes.
Wobblez, I'll have to try thinking dirty thoughts :) It's not easy with that godawful noise though....

Don't you just hate when that happens PITA? lol
Nearly every time I had an MRI something would start to itch which was usually my face but sometimes it might be my arm or leg lol

I'm having an MRI of my shoulder tomorrow. Not looking forward to it...
Good luck with your MRI Nak

Thanks CQ. They will be injecting dye into my shoulder, which for some reason means that I haven't been allowed to take any pain relievers or blood thinners for the past 5 days. I hardly ever get headaches, but of course I got one yesterday that won't go away, and I can't take anything for it. I'll be happy when the whole thing is over with...

good luck! MRI's are boring but like matlock said... great opportunity for a cat nap! That's what I did. And it turned out to be my saving grace!

Nakamova, u in our thoughts today. I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Pita300, been there done that and now in the desperate to know results queue?

You both are in my prayers.

Ugh...The main thing I hate about all of the MRI's I have had is that they never seem to find anything while on the one hand I am glad they never seem to fine anything.... on the other hand it is frustratrating they never find anything either then I just end up with a very large bill..... in the last 4 years I have had 4 2 w/contrast and 2 w/o contrast all clean.... 6 CT scans also all clean.... hope your MRI today goes well! I alsways find it interesting though the technologly is amazing!!!!! I really do find it amazing that they can see so much information so quickly theese days.

I understand what you mean by not finding anything. Besides a hole where most of my right temporal lobe was. They most likely won't find anything else. I won't be any better off then befor the MRI. I should hear tomorrow or Thursday.

They most likely won't find anything else.
I hope they can find your brain! If it doesn't show up, maybe it wandered off, the way mine does from time to time. :)

Let us know what they say about the MRI.

Guess I could have phrased that a little differently:roflmao: Brings a whole new meaning to the song If I only had a brain!
