Once or twice a month my dads body temperature will spike and he will start sweating terribly then he craves sugar then he starts to get real cold and tired he thinks it is his dilantin or keppra anyone else have these symptoms

Has he had his thyroid checked? Or his glucose level checked? These AEDs are powerful and can effect one's thyroid and blood sugar levels, so please check with the dr.

Since the "heaters" only occur once a month, they are less likely to be medication-related (and neither Dilantin nor Keppra are associated with sudden rises in body temperature). They could be partial seizures though -- those can feature temperature swings, chills and sweating. I agree with Cint, he should let his doctor know about the symptoms and get them checked out.

I did some research and its sounds like he is having autonomic seizures but I cant find much info on those
