Hey all,

My jerks are triggered by an 'intention' to do things or things which need 'focus.' In a job interview today, as is the case, I was jerking in several instances and getting interupted mid-sentence, losing words.

It's enough to throw off the entire flow and feel of interview. I know the idea of letting people know about E has been well discussed lately... but how should I handle those? When it's obvious when I'm twitching with my arms flapping around, stuttering and skipping up in words... what do I do?

Update: I got a tenative job offer, yay!

I have to pass a drug test (no problem there.)

Concerned about my background check though... 'cuz while I did list jobs I've worked at, I might have skewed months worked there by a month or two here and there, to have less gaps in my resume. I also couldn't think of their phone numbers so put down general 800 numbers I THOUGHT might be to them - I did give their full names and approxamite locations though... I also couldn't think of my supervisor's last names, only their first... god, I hope the background check clear goes through... I'm biting my nails.

I guess once it clears(hopefully it does), THAT'S when I should explain I have epilepsy? I'm working FOR a Law Office, so I'm not sure how to broach it...

God, I hope this goes through so that in 3 months I'll get medical insurance and can finally get back on meds...

Good luck! After you get the job, ask about meeting with someone in the HR department. They may be able to help you in terms of how and what to explain your seizures to the rest of the office.

If you were having myoclonus jerks in your interview they probably know there is something (even if they don't know it's epilepsy) so I'd say you getting the job offer is a very good sign that they are going to be understanding. Congrats!
