Hi my name is Helen.
I wasn't quite sure where to post this but I figure here was the best.

Tomorrow I start a course called Training For Success. It's for people with Epilepsy to help them gain confidence and esteem and to help them get back into the swing of college.

We have an induction session tomorrow at 11:30am and I am really nervous and scared.
I am beyond happy that I got a place but I've always had a problem with anxiety and nerves relating to my epilepsy and I'm really scared. My stomach is doing flip flops and I'm terrified my epilepsy is going to let me down tomorrow.

I really need some help, anything would be appreciated.

Hi Helen,
By any chance do you know anyone that is going to be in the class? Have you spoken to anyone when you signed up for it? If so, could you contact them and ask them to meet you prior to the class (even if you have never met them before)?...that might give you a bit of time to become at least familiar with one other person that will be involved, and can focus on that prior to starting, and this might decrease your stress.

I know that this does not help and it is very easy to say it, but remember that once you get passed this first day/few hours even, you will be fine and your stress will likely decrease considerably. And these folks are going to understand if you have seizure activity. Let us know how this class progresses for you, it sounds very interesting. All the best to you, we are pulling for you!

I agree with what Ranger said.

Also, I so wish there was something like that here

Hi Helen,

I think Ranger hit it spot on. After some time you'll start to feel a little more relaxed and realize that you'll make it. I get that way when I start a new job so I know how you feel. Let us know how it goes!!

In with the good air, out with the bad air...

You'll do fine. :)

Congrats

Lucky you, oh try not to be nervous it will be fun once you settle in.
I so wish we had a program like that here!Enjoy

Thanks for all the support.I had a good first day.It was mainly filling out forms e.t.c our actually lectures don't start for 2 more weeks.
These first 2 weeks are just about getting to know each other and stuff like that.
