I'm s bit confused and wondering if any of you have had this experience or if there's some sorta mistake or disconnect.
My neurologist wanted me to get further, more in depth testing to figure out what exactly is going on with this whole epilepsy thing since I still get partials. So the clinic here on post put in a referral for what I THOUGHT was goinf to be .... well. ... more in depth eeg stuff (like putting some electrodes closer to the brain, for example). This referral was with an epileptologist. Well.... got the approval in the mail from my insurance to see this epileptologist. .. except. ... it's saying neuropsychology? Six visits dor that and I guess a consult. I know my neurologist was concerned some of it might be behavioral. ... but I don't understand this referral if he wanted further testing for epileps activity.
I mean. .. I already have a psychiatrist and I've seen a neuropsych... so why would I be referred to an epileptologist in another city for psych? All I can think is the clinic that referred me (not my neurologist) made a mistake in the referral or the the referral jsust isn't reflecting it right.... or my neurologist thinks it's all psychological (but I already have the diagnosis of epilepsy after a few positive eegs and my symptoms leading up to my last tc seizure). Anyway- anyone here been referred to an epileptologist for a PSYCH eval.... I need to get in touch with my case manager cause I'm in the dark here. Gr.
On another note I think he WAS right that some of what I thought was seizure activity was psychological because once my Zoloft and Buspar we're upped a lot of symptoms stopped. ... though I'm still getting lots of short deja vus couple of days a month. Those ar e still followed by tingly hands or somr nausea...
Snd another random thought - I never had a problem with panic attacks or anything of that nature in ths past (anxiety, yes, but no PHYSICAL symptoms like altered sound perception, etc) but I'm wondering if maybe the Keppra had any influence on the panicky type feelings I was getting more frequently. ... wow total tangent but oh well
