Hi my name is Dee I have had lots of Grand mal seizures for 14yrs. My last one was on tuesday sept 7 2010. I fell and hit my head on the side walk and now whenever I bend over I get really dizzy and everything goes black. I was sent to the E.R they sent me home but now I don't know what to do...:ponder:

Hi Dee,
Sorry to hear you are having a bad time. Do you have a Nuerologist that you see? If so, and you have not done so already of course, maybe check in with them to see if they can offer any advice? There might also be an option to check with a head injury support group in your area to see if anyone there has similiar situation and knows of anything that can help you.
Hope this stops for you soon.

thanks I do have a nuerologist but he makes me feel like its my fult that I have them. All he will do is up my meds. I will look for the head injury support group in my area..

Hi deve, welcome to CWE!

If your neurologist has such a lousy attitude, perhaps it's time for a new one. Any chance you can find another any time soon. Can your regular doctor help you with your recent head injury?

Best,
Nakamova

Yes I agree with Nakamova. One MUST have a medical professional that you are comfortable with. It is frustration to have to find someone new, and go through that process, but so important to be able to talk freely with your doctor.

Sorry to hear that you are not controlled.
Please treat your head injury as if you had a concussion. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.

I wish I could he is the olny one in my town right now.. I or my bf don't have a car at the moment. Hopefully in the new yr..

That can be frustrating.
I would make a lot of suggestions, but I am sure you have already thought of them.

Hi, Dee.

Welcome to CWE! I'm so sorry you hit your head. Seizures are definitely hazardous to your health. Head injuries are especially harmful to those of us who have seizures already.

I'm also sorry there is only one neurologist in your area. My cousin had the same problem for his daughter. No good neurologists. He called a neurologist that was at a major children's hospital that was in another state and explained the situation. That doctor was willing to look at the test results, the chart notes from the current neurologist, and videos my cousin had taken of her seizures. They then had an appointment with the doc via skype. (An online video chat service) They actually got his daughter diagnosed and on the right meds, from a long-distance call. I don't know if another doctor would be willing to do this, but if you feel it's urgent, it might be worth a try.

I'm just so sorry you are going through this. I wish I could take it away.
<hugs>
