Hi everyone,
My 15 year old (only child) has been diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy this week. She had been having absent seizures for about 2 years and our family doctor only thought they were due to hormones. However, this week, she had her first tonic-clonic seizure. And, for us, this was so incredibly scary. We called 911 and for the next 2 days received the most incredible care. She was tested fully and was diagnosed.
So, here I am.....I'm trying to find out at much information as I can, find resources for her especially and most importantly, trying to be realistic and positive about what this means for my daughter. I would love any/all feedback, info, help.
Thanks so much!

Hi Howlett, welcome to CWE!

You might want to check out this thread by RobinN: http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com/forums/f32/neurofeedback-rebeccas-story-2733/

It details Robin's persistence in looking at neurofeedback and nutritional apporaches to treating her daughter's seizures. EVen if those approaches isn't right for you, there's a lot to be learned there about being persistent and gathering as much information as possible. And much inspiration too.

You can search for information using the search tab at the top, and of course, post questions as well. CWE members can offer a lot of wisdom and support; we welcome you to our dinner party.

Best,
Nakamova
