Hello. I'm found this site while searching for answers about my sons seizures. After reading through a few posts I decided to register. Seems like there are a lot of kind and knowledgeable people here.

My son just turned 1 year old last month. His seizures started in September and after 3 months seizure free he had 3 today. I feel like the doctors aren't giving me enough information and I'm having a hard time coping. It's time to start seeking info to help him....and me.

Hi :) this is the place or answers and comfort ! It's helped me know end by being able to speak to others like me on this site :) what type of seizures does he suffer? Hope you find some answers!

What kind? Hmmm I don't even know what the different kinds are. Wow, I'm even less informed than I realized.

Hi:loco::loco:

The others before me have said it all, this is a great forum.

I am 60, and have learned more here than with ALL my Neur. I joined 2011, the information I learned here has changed my life.

Look in all the forums and ask as many questions as you like.

Thanks for the welcome and link above. After reading through the descriptions I would say he has tonic-clinic. Although yesterday he had one while eating in his high chair that was different. Lasted about 20 seconds. He was staring at he wall with his head turned all the way to the right. He went back to eating like nothing happened.
Doctor increased his medication yesterday. Still thinks he'll outgrow the seizures. How likely is that REALLY?

Momto2,
I was just thinking of you & your son. Actually I was telling my husband what the rude ER doc told you.
As far as your son having a different type of seizure, this is VERY possible/probable.
Be sure to tell the neuro, I'd call the office & have them document it. (My body most always draws to the right at some point in a seizure)
The reason the seizure was different could be that the medicine is kicking in and making the tonic/clonic that he was having lesser in severity.
As far as outgrowing seizures, it's a possibility, but it's possible that he won't either. Nothing is black & white-except for the fact that your son needs you right now. And you need to take care of yourself also, so you'll be able to be there for him.

Again, I wish you & your son well on this journey. Buckle in-it's some ride.
Best wishes, Jackie
