OH well hmm I think its just one that says I have epilepsy, it might have my meds on it, but im not sure...the place I ordered it from they were suppose to call me yesterday but never did so Im not sure now?

You can call MedicAlert at 1-900-432-5378. They have from cheap to expensive bracelets. There website is: http://www.medicalert.org

It was started by a father who lost his daughter because the ER gave her the wrong medicine. She was allergic to it and died from the med. That is why he started it. He wanted to help other people who need to give the information to the doctor's when they are unconscious with seizures or other illnesses as well.

A friend gave one to me back in 1970. I have stayed with MedicAlert because they have always given me the best of care. One time when I was having seizures they did not know who to contact. They called up MedicAlert and they were given my husband's phone number and my doctor's phone number.

I got my medic alert bracelet from the Australian Medic Alert foundation when my seizures returned n 2002. Even though my seizures are currently under control I still like to stay registered with the Medic Alert foundation.

A similar thing happened to me 5 years ago. I went out on morning to do voluntary work, last thing I remembered was leaving home at 8:50am then waking up n hospital a bit after 12pm. It turned out that someone saw me in the streets about 10:00am, realised something was wrong (think they saw my medic alert bracelet) & rang the ambulance. I was taken to hospital, I hadn't taken my bag with me that day so had no ID & the the only thing had on me was my house keys. Because I had my medic alert bracelet on the hospital was able to ring the medic alert foundation & quote my medic alert number (which is on the inside of the bracelet along with epilepsy). The medic alert foundation then gave the hospital my mums contact number & my neurologist number.
