Good morning all,

My name is Shauna, and I just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone! I have Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy - I was diagnosed at 20, though I had myoclonic seizures for several years before that. My epilepsy was well-controlled for 14 years, but in the past year I have had breakthrough tonic-clonic seizures, med changes, life changes, and lots of stress! I'm happy to have found a community of people who understand, many of whom are experiencing some of the same things. I look forward to getting to know you!

Thank you,
Shauna

Hi ShaunaM. Glad you found us. There are many very helpful, friendly people here.

Hello and welcome to CWE! This is a great place to get support and understanding for this rather bizarre and still not very well understood disease (or disorder, or condition. I have heard that in some places it's starting to be classified as a disease instead of a disorder or condition.) Feel free to post questions, comments, rants, whatever, and share your knowledge and experiences with the rest of us.

Cheers!

Welcone, Shauna.

I had one of those break-through t/c seizures as well just before I joined here. Look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome - I broke through my JME recently too. I hope you like it here, it's a wonderful place.
