Hi,
I'm Megan a mother of 4 kids..My second child Kaden(a boy) was diagnoised with seizures at 10 months old.First time they said they were multi focal and now they are saying they are partial complex. He is now 3 yrs old and goes to preschool since he is delayed in his speech, but how werid since he understands and comprehends everything you tell him. He is on medication right now to control them and hoping and keeping our fingers crossed that maybe this October we can start weaning him off that..Thought I should introduce myself so "Hi" again!

I can understand the speech delay.
I have complex partials *as well as many others* seizures and sometimes I get this brain lock. Like I'm talking and I can't remember which word to use, or which word means what. The example I use is proper vs prepare. They sound similar in my head but I can't make them out.

Or I'll be thinking something and the thoughts don't come out fast enough and then over lap with another thought. Like meshing 2 words together or meshing two sentences together.

Maybe that's what is happening. I know meds can be the culprit sometimes when it comes to memory

That very well could be happening to him...It's just hard communicating with him, because we have to either sign with him, play the guessing game or just listen to him scream if we can't figure it out.He does go to speech therapy where he rides a horse and the movement of the horse is suppose to help him get the words out,and the preschool..I'm just hoping he will pick up the talking soon, and I'm sure his medication plays a part in it also since it makes him very sleepy.

Hi Megan, welcome to CWE.

You've got your hand full with 4 kids! As Rae said, the meds can have an effect in slowing things down, so that may be what's going with Kaden. There are other parents of youngsters here on CWE who may chime in with advice, and you can search for information using the tab at the top. There's also a social group called the nursery that you might want to check out.

Best,
Nakamova
