Just a note to introduce myself. I have been a seizure patient for over 35 years, and work as an EEG tech for over 30 years.
Now having trouble with costs of meds!

Hope to meet others like me!

Hi Cheyenne - Welcome to CWE
I presume the cost has increased as the coverage has decreased.
Seems that the medical field would have the insurance game figured out, and you wouldn't have any trouble with medication.
Perhaps people would abuse it more if they didn't have to pay out of pocket for some of the costs.

Welcome Cheyenne,

It will be cool to have an experienced EEG tech in our group. I understand the financial drain of E. Not just the meds, but doctor bills, ER visits, etc...

Please make yourself at home here and join in on conversations. There are a few threads out their decribeing how you can get assistance from some of the pharmacy companies.

Welcome

I've often thought my life would be so much easier if I worked in the medical profession since I'd spent so much time dealing with it.

Good to have you.

Hi, hello

and how do you do? It's very nice to "meet" you!

You'll find plenty of nooks and crannies to hang out in here.......and several threads about getting help, financially, with the cost of meds, too.

Check out this link, it will lead you to several threads:

Mr B, our host, has built us an AWESOME home here. Feel free to kick up your feet and stay awhile. Buckeye and Eric both make some GREAT coffee (far better than mine!)

Take care!

Hmmmm....thought that I replied already, but guess not. Anyway, welcome to CWE Cheyenne. Feel free to ask questions, vent when needed, or just chime in. :)

The costs of a brand name have skyrocketed, and the coverage % has decreased. I have talked & written many people within the institution I work for, as well as writing President Obama, the drug company directly, etc. No reply from the Pres yet, but it burns me that big business can dictate your independence. By that I mean, I already know what my body can handle, being forced into taking a med because I cannot afford their price! Unbelievable!!

Everyone is cutting costs, even we patients. I understand the economy has bombed, but still I am nervous, angry, even scared about changing meds because of this. I have a good job, good home life, I right now can still drive. What I really believe needs to happen is that epilepsy needs to be better understood by the general public. That is a whole other soapbox!

Anyway, enough ranting. But thank you for this forum. It is great to have something like this.
