Hi I wonder if anyone can help me I am having somekind of siezure that started over a year ago . Then I've had repeated ones . It's been so awful . My doctor thinks I have fibromyalga . I'm waiting to see specialists , this is my story

Episode on the 24th remember day was good not too much pain only the pain under my arms and bust . Felt like I had energy In the morning finished work at 8 after a night shift. Came home by 9 . Sat for a while then did some house work. Jobbed most off the day had plenty of breaks. Started to feel out of breath by 2pm . Stopped and started a few more jobs after tea. Started to feel funny. I say funny because its odd. It may start with a rib cage ache. Maybes throw in , light headed on and off. A drunk feeling . Not a persistent drunk just prob for around a ten seconds and I have to sit . Sit for 30 mins then start to walk around like a old person who has to go really slow . So decided to get to bed . Remember getting up at 11 and asking Tim to come up because I felt funny. By this time Tim knows what that means. Many an evening Tims gone to bed , I go cold and shake and feel like am passing out. Tim came up and sure enough it started . This time like one other I had and I had to ring my son to come over , my son rang 999 they came took my blood pressure did the usual and left saying don't worry if I ring again it's ok. ( also I had an episode sometime where I went into Goole hospital on a 999 and was sent home with hypo ventilation leaflet) think that means panic attack . So was hoping it was just going to be one that passed over . It didn't it started and just got worse. Remember sitting in side of the bed , then somehow laid back on bed but legs dangling over the side of the bed asked for water , I couldn't drink it, legs felt like jelly couldn't stand cold clammy feet and hands . Cloud in head like a black fog. Oh no can't catch my breath ,,, trying to calm myself like the hypovetilation leaflet . It just got worse I can't even remember now the next coming feelings it all happened fast it's like there's is a void . Tim rang 999 and they came out . It took a while so it was around 20 mins and I was coming round but walked very slow and legs were jelly like they aren't my own. I went into the ambulance . They did the blood and put me in heart monitor , they decided they wanted to take me to Scunthorpe . On the journey I remember feeling car sick . But all other symptoms are a void now. Somewhere in-between arrival my heart rate went up , and I remember a overwhelming thirst and head swaying . The arrival is a void to me but Tim said the heart machine was going crazy and heart rate flew up hit 240 for a split second then went down . Remember been hooked up to a machine . 6 hrs went by and my brain was working again asked Tim if they done my bloods no they hadn't. I asked nurse to do them and take a pee sample . I knew to do this because I thought it may be a food allergy or something . Morning came and they moved me upstairs . This was horrendous , the pain was so bad .ahes all over like felt like I had been in a car accident . I couldn't lay just sat on the edge of the bed. I saw a nurse later in the morning and asked if they had my blood results . They came over later and took my bloods again then shortly after went for a X-ray . I can't remember much again only that a lady doc came over asked questions and later a male doc came over and said I could go home. I was given a piece of paper and it said admitted with palpitations . I thought is that all I had because I felt so ill these palpitations are really bad things eh,, my word I thought palpitations were just a throbbing in the chest or a sweating thing with heart jumping Thobbing. I actually thought I was going to have a heart attack when I first started with it. Well this is a hospital so they must be right. They discharged me 8.30 pm . I was so tired and couldn't get a lift home . They managed to get me a taxi after I sat in waiting area for an hour. When I came home I looked terrible everyone said I looked so old in years like I had aged years. I felt exsteemly slow . Pain all over my neck back if head black fog in head sinus black fog couldn't breathe through my nose felt my my breathing was in short puffs and I couldn't breathe adequately , I started to think that I shouldn't of been sent home that there was something that didn't seem right. If I had been in my right mind in hospital I would if kicked up a fuss and said something but I can honestly say when they told me to go home they said they needed the beds and am ok . I wasn't ok and I felt terrible . I had given birth to two babies and felt more well an hour after giving birth . It took me a week to pick up , and in that week it was a blur. I went slowly after that week and went back to work after 10 days . I started back at work keeping everything light. I needed my job. What normally took me 20 mins to walk to work took me an hour. I had three palpitations on way to work first day back ,only mini ones but it was clear I shouldn't be going bk to work. When I got there I calmed right down and went slowly . I managed to do a night shift and finished at 8am in the morning . I was given beaterblockers from doctor pervious to going bk to work so I thought maybe its just a matter of time before they kick in . I kept reasoning with myself and willing myself better. My bloods were taken a couple if days after coming home cortisol was low calcium just a little low but calcium was not anything to worry about. Everything else seemed fine. I started to pick up . And never felt as ill as then , since to date. It's the 11th January now and ad say its took till now to feel like I did previous to 24th Nov . Am on sick now from work and facing loosing my job which won't be long they need someone reliable and I know it's in the bag that my jobs gone. This is because ive had so many episodes, i cannot be responsible for people with learning difficulties. Tim tells me I went so pale my lips almost looked blue at home and in hospital. Also the twitching and shaking went on and off for hours. I weed myself in the ambulance , Tim noticed when I was laid on the hospital bed, that My private parts admitted a smell, and he thought I'd had a fit. Since I came home I've had probably had one hole of pittza over the hole time. also only the odd cup if tea here and there. Ive tried to eat as well as I can and had a little salt here and there as I never used to have salt with my food. Thinking it may help . I drink plenty of water every day. I have been given no diagnosis to what happened apart from been admitted with palpitations I have been back to Scunthorpe three times since and had two episodes at home one if which Tim says just looked like a fit the shaking looked more like muscle contractions . We've both looked up palpitations anxious attacks , fits ect to find what they look like. The beaterblockers are working now but the attacks are still there . My memory is worse . I feel like I have dyslexia , I can't concentrate too long. I get disorientated my eyes are strange have Black specks ( floaters ) . There's plenty more a list , it's overwhelming and nearly everything you look at comes up with heart disease.

Hi Jojo --

I gave your post its own thread so folks could see it and welcome you. Welcome to CWE!

It certainly sounds like you've been having seizures, particularly with the shaking and the blue lips (that's a sign that the body is sending oxygen to the brain to help with the increased electrical activity there). Have you seen a neurologist and had an EEG done? Did they prescribe any anti-seizure medication or beta-blockers?

In the meantime, you might want to try taking a magnesium supplement. Magnesium plays a role in brain and muscle health -- it can help with muscle twitches and shaking, and also with heart problems.

Here's a link with some good basic info to check out: http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com/forums/f22/proactive-prescription-epilepsy-1254/
