Well I thought I would join one this forum since I do not know anyone with seizures as well.
Anyway, I had seizures since 2nd grade and it was 45 minutes long and had to stay in the hospital for a few days.
I had about 10 in all. Since I left high school I have had probably more han all the others combined before before graduation, 20 years old. I still have not been able to get my drivers license.
Most recent was a few weeks ago and it seems my parents usually see them since I am home most of the time with them. :P

Welcome Azusa! Nice to meet you. What type of meds are you on? I hope that soon you are able to go longer that a few weeks without seizures. You will find a variety of people here and we are all waiting to lend support whenever you need it :)

Hi,

Have you started keeping a diary?

Hormonal imbalance can be a trigger. Other triggers are stress, lack of sleep, infection, Antibotics, some foods.

this forum has helped me so much.

The more you learn about E. will help you. on this forum I have learned the things that Dr. don't tell you, but will make a big difference in your life.

Well a while ago I had a seizure due to 2 hours of sleep.
I didn't know you could have one due to stress though, that mite explain the last one.

Hi Azusa,
Welcome to CWE.

I agree with jyearta about keeping a diary to record anything related to your epilepsy, not just about your seizures but also anything you think may have been strange around the time you had your seizure.

There are many types of seizure triggers, stress seems to be a common trigger in a lot of people. I know with me my 2 main triggers are stress & over tiredness.

Well that isn't good, I have been far more stressed out lately. Well I don't do anything dangerous so I should be fine. But ever since I found out the seizure was caused by getting insufficient sleep I always make sure I get at least 5 hours. Still probably not enough though but better than 2.

I've been told, "you never will," or my favorite, "this would be impossible" and they were wrong. Some Dr.s just have really bad bed side manner.

I was told at the age of 16 that i'd probably never feel totally normal. And I did shortly after that statement for a good couple of years. Driving and functioning at 100 percent. Control can be achieved, but being told that things are hopless by a Doc is pretty messed up.

Give him a slap in the face for me! =)
