Hi Barbara,

Welcome to CWE! It's great that you are supporting folks in the epilepsy community.

Hi Barbara, welcome to the forum. :hello:

You don't have to have epilepsy personally to be part of our "dinner party". There are many members here because of concern about family, friends, co-workers, students, etc. We're glad to have anyone who has an interest.

You are doing a truly good deed.

Historically, epilepsy research has been under-funded. Federal dollars spent on research pale in comparison to those spent on other diseases, many of which affect fewer people than epilepsy.

If my memory serves me correctly, the NIH "gives" one quarter of 1% to epilepsy research and funding.

Yet, Epilepsy affects over 3 million Americans of all ages – more than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and Parkinson’s disease combined.

If only everyone would become as generous and thoughtful as you!

Hi Barbara, we are very glad to have you.

I look forward to your posts and telling us what you find out and how things will improve.
