Update & question: Has anyone noticed Levetiracetam Extended-Release Tablets in their stools? Sorry if I offend anyone but I have noticed this a few times. They are totally whole! You would think they would be somewhat dissolved. I emailed the company so maybe I will hear back in a few days. Once I did take an herbal laxative so I figured that was the reason, now I am on magnesium so that could be it, but I Googled it and noticed a few people mentioned it on other forums. Odd! I never saw this before when I was not taking the time release. I may reduce my mag a bit (after I discuss with my doctor) and then ask my neurologist for a blood test to make sure I have enough Levetiracetam in my blood. I am not having any other symptoms and I do not notice any seizures even though they tell me I am having them all the time. I have changed my diet and added more vitamins since Dec 2013 (see previous post). I may change neurologists soon too if I can find another one that I may prefer. Any ideas ?

Hi Bobbi --

I haven't tried levetiracetam XR, but it does seem odd that they aren't dissolving fast enough in your stomach. Getting a blood serum test should help get a sense of what's going on. If the XR pills aren't making it into your bloodstream, perhaps you could try the regular version or a liquid form, both of which would tend to be more quickly absorbed.

I was on the regular form first and they switched me - I just refilled so I'll see if I can get a blood test this month and then see what the doctor says. Thanks I didn't realize there's a liquid form.
