Hi everyone. I've been reading many of your posts - very helpful - and decided to join. I don't have many seizures (maybe 1 or 2 a year that I know of, of course there are a few more suspected ones when I sleep) but what got me on here was a day last week where I repeatedly experienced jamais vu, one after the other, through much of the day. The next day I had a significant seizure and a migraine for that and the following day. The worst I've ever had.
I explained what happened to my neurologist - I have lived at my present location for 48 years and was seeing everything as if for the first time (not scary, but very very weird) - and he gave it the name jamais vu...opposite of déjà vu..and is ordering another eeg.

Has anyone ever had this, either alone or as a precursor to migraine or seizure?

I have TLE and I get deja vu as a component of my seizures. Jamais vu is also common for some people.
One of my favorites is Alice in wonderland syndrome where I feel really tall and the world seems to curve away kind of like a fish eye lens effect, very weird.

Hi Teaberry,
Welcome to CWE! I've had temporal lobe epilepsy for 44 yrs. now and I would often get jamais vu. I will be sitting in my own home and all of the sudden nothing looks familiar to me and I have to keep telling myself where I am and other times the room may look far away or really small. My neuro from yrs. ago told me the moment I started to get that feeling to tighten up all of the muscles in my body and make my hands into tight fists and by doing this it will stop the problem. It has worked a lot for me, but like Frink said it's a very strange, or weird feeling. Here's wishing you only the best and May God Bless You!
