Hello,

My name is Annalize I was diagnosed with encephalitis at the age of 12 since then I have "Grand Mal's" about 1 every 3 to 4 years and "absence sezures" about 1 - 4 a week.

My memory is affected and my spelling is down the drain and the worst of all for me is the fact that I can't drive.

I am taking Lamictal and Epilim.

I am originaly from South Africa but am now living in Melbourne, Australia. Married with no children.

Looking forward to meeting you all.
Annalize

Welcome!

Hello Annalize,

I just wanted to welcome you to this wonderful group of friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable people. Everyone is here to help one another and I have never been with such a welcome forum. I wish you well.

Josie

Hello Annalize ~ It's nice to meet you. Welcome to the forum.

Hi Annalize!

And welcome to CWE!! You have found a wonderful place to be! Mr B (Bernard) has made an AWESOME home for us here, so sit down and relax, make yourself at home. Buckeye will be around with the coffee soon, I'm sure.

Encephalitis.......wow, that sucks beans. Sorry to hear that. Same goes for the not driving. But, on the upside, at least your tonic clonics (grand mals) aren't that often.....

We've got quite a few Australians around here now.....wow. CQ, TeeTees, are 2 that I can think of right off the bat..... Texans, too, for that matter. :ponder: Anyway, feel free to ask questions, rant, rave, whatever you need to do. There's all sorts of neat places in this house to have fun in! :pfft::pfft:

Take care!

Hi Annalize, welcome to the forum. :hello:

That sounds remarkably similar to my wife's seizure pattern when I first met her - before she started on a sleep and diet regimen and used EEG neurofeedback for the first time. She was able to completely eliminate all seizure activity using that recipe until we started our family. She started having some seizures again after delivering our first child.

I highly recommend looking into EEG neurofeedback. If you are like my wife, it will likely eliminate the absence seizures permanently.

Hi Annalize and Welcome,

I hope you find answers here and friends when you need them. It's unfortunate that we all have to meet in such circumstances, but at least we can all laugh and cry together!
