Not sure if I'm doing this right (already lost my first post).

I'm new to the group. I've had seizures for 25+ years. I'm highly allergic to Tegretol (ended up with Stevens-Johnsons Syndrome), and am currently taking Dilantin, Phenobarbitol, Keppra, and Vimpat. I'm going in for my first video eeg on Monday. I'm pretty freaked out about the whole thing. I'm not excited about being on video or having to ask for help just going to the restroom.

Vimpat has not been an effective drug for me and Keppra is just horrible. Keppra rage is a real thing even though my doc doesn't seem to believe me.

Anyway, that's me. So far your stories have validated my feelings and made me feel a little less alone.

C Ells, welcome... much info and interesting things you can see, read, and talk about here.

Hi C Ells, welcome!

Keppra rage is a real thing even though my doc doesn't seem to believe me.
Kepprage is a super-common side effect, and if your doc doesn't know about it, then it's time to switch to a new neurologist. And in the meantime, try taking a vitamin B6 supplement -- it can help with Keppra's mood-related side effects.

Best,

Welcome in C Ellis.

Kepprage is real lol. No doubts. You just have to find a way to control the anger. I know its hard to do, but it is possible.

Don't worry about the video EEG. Just roll with the punches. Sure, you'll be a litte uncomfortable, but no big deal. Its for a good reason. Be sure to give the doc a few good laughs. I always try. :D
