Hi -- so glad to find an active forum that relates to epilepsy. My son (a teenager) has primary generalized convulsive epilepsy, as well as Asperger Syndrome and ADHD-combined type; his seizures began at age 5 but are now well-controlled with Depakote.

On to the questions:
1. Where is the best place to post a specific question about my son's epilepsy? It seems like the Nursery is the designated place for parent discussion, but I see lots of specific questions here in the Foyer, and it seems to get a lot more traffic. ;-) Don't want to screw up right off the bat and post in the wrong place.

2. Is cross-posting allowed? I was considering posting my question on another site to get a wider response, but some forums are particular about that, and I want to respect the rules.

Where To Post?

MM,
You went to the correct thread to introduce yourself. If you have any questions to ask and want answers, post them in the 'Kitchen'. This is where we have discussions about things.
If you want to find out about the rules contact Bernard. He runs this site, and does a great job, with the help of the moderators. All the members of CWE are here to try and be as supportive as we can be!

I always get it wrong and I been here for long time.Dont worry people understand and someone will put it in right place if it really unaprorperate for that thread. You can edit it out if want, but I getting out of comfort zone telling people what and how when I not got clue myself

Hi MM, welcome to CWE. :hello:

1. The Nursery typically attracts parents with young children. The Loft was designed for teenagers to talk amongst themselves (sometimes they like to talk about things that don't interest parents). The Kitchen is the main room where most discussion takes place. Posts about your son would be perfectly fine in any of those forum rooms depending upon the nature of the topic. The moderating team tries to help move discussion threads to the most appropriate forum room when we find one out of place, but some do miss our attention. Many members post stuff in The Foyer instead of more appropriate forum rooms mostly because (I think) they just haven't figured out how to navigate the forum yet. No matter what forum room you post in, the thread will be listed on the CWE home page, so to a degree, as long as the topic is active, most members are going to see it.

2. If by cross-post, you mean post the same topic/thread in multiple forum rooms here on CWE, no. One thread on a topic is sufficient. If you mean, post on CWE the same thing you are posting in other corners of the internet, no problem (as long as it's a genuine discussion topic and not spam).

Thank you, everyone!

Thanks for the warm welcome and for answering my questions.

What I meant by "cross-posting" was posting a question about my son's case here at CWE and at another forum that also has epilepsy-related discussion, just for the sake of getting a wide range of opinion. But honestly, the other forums I've seen are pretty inactive. So I think posting here will be sufficient.

Thanks again! :)
