I'm Rod, 31 years old from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 15 and have learned to cope with it over the years. It's extremely frustrating your body is jerking uncontrollably and I need a way to vent....

Welcome! You've come to a good place to do so!! You'll get hugs and encouraging words when you need them, and will be able to share some of your coping techniques for those of us still struggling. Glad you're here!

warm welcome marcell81,

are u on medication?

so many here understand you to the core...no better place to vent and get some feedback to boot..

I dont have E, my Son of 27 does and like you, started in teens, 1st T/C appeared when he was 23....before that we did not know he had E :(..there is SO much you can learn here, we the simple people learn from each other here which makes us much better prepared to deal with the docs, the meds, the frustrations...you name it..

Welcome::hello:

You have found just the place!!!! MOST everyone understands what your going through no matter if is the seizures, side effect, meds, Dr.
We have all been there.

Vent all you want you are among friends.

Welcome, I've been officially diagnosed and on meds now for over 30 years, and almost certainly was having partial and the occasional tonic clonic for years before that, but unwitnessed. Even though my szs are as well controlled as they will probably ever be (I still have a few hundred partials a year), and I have a wonderful, full and busy life, I don't think the underlying angst, or despair, or worry, or out-of-control feelings, or however you want to describe it, of epilepsy ever quite goes away, unless maybe for someone who is 100% sz free and has no med side-effects. My daughter, who is 31 and has had szs for about 8 years, is in that well-controlled category and she says she rarely if ever thinks about her epilepsy.
All that said, welcome again, and, as the others have said, feel free to vent and participate here as much as you want. You're in good company.
