hi i'm new to this site and still rather new to the whole diagnosis I thought i would start by telling you a bit about myself. First off i used to be a wonderful speller but those days seem to be long gone so bear with me on that:rolleyes: I was diag. 09-08 but have had strange symptoms for many years that i thought were normal for me until things progressed to the point that i knew something definetely wrong. to shorten the story after many many tests mri showed lesions and eeg showed seizure disorder in temporal lobe, that explains many of the of symptoms that i had been having for years so i am learning alot. I have read some of the post here and learned many things so thanks to lots of you for sharing your experiences. Just wanted to take a moment to say say hi and thanks again your sharing has made me much more informed and comfortable about myself and given me some great places for more info.

Welcome !! You will find a great "family" of friends who TRULY care and understand. Ask questions - don't be afraid. Don't feel intimidated. You are amongst people who share your thoughts and feelings and experiences in their own lives - understanding a person is a gift. We are glad you are here!! Again, WELCOME!!

Hi Elizabeth, welcome to the forum. :hello:

... I was diag. 09-08 but have had strange symptoms for many years that i thought were normal for me until things progressed to the point that i knew something definetely wrong.

It's pretty common for folks newly diagnosed with epilepsy to discover that they had been experiencing simple partial seizures for years and just didn't recognize them as such (because they didn't know better).

... mri showed lesions and eeg showed seizure disorder in temporal lobe

Hi Elizabeth! Welcome to CWE. :) This group is fantastic, and very friendly. Feel free to wander around, read the info in the library here, ask questions, chime in, or just vent in the padded room when needed. And trust me, we all need to at some time. :)
