Hello, Im the mother of a 10 year old boy who was recently diagnosed with seizure disorder. He had his first seizure a few months ago, had another one 2-3 wks ago. We saw neurologist yesterday who is starting him on keppra. He already has anxiety/mood issues. Anyone have keppra experiences to share?

I've only taken one tablet, it didnt agree with me, but at the same time, I felt the best I have in about a year. Im sure other CWE members will respond soon. I have found CWE to be encouraging and helpful. I'd like to welcome you and I hope all goes well with your son.

Hi Marie, welcome to CWE!

Keppra works great for some, not so great for others. Its most notorious side effect is moodiness and "Kepprage". If this happens for your son, it can help to take a B6 supplement to counteract this effect.

Hi and Welcome,

I couldn't handle the side effects of Keppra. But I haven't been able to take most of the meds. used to treat epilepsy.


There are people on this forum who it works great for.
