not sure what I want to talk about,I've never gotten on a site and really expressed how I feel about my epilepsy or how it has affected me or my family.According to my neurologist because of all the concussions I've had(16 verified)from sports,fights,car accidents,this has contributed to my siezures.Two years ago I had 8 or 9 one morning,hadn't had one for over ten years and was released from meds for about 8 years came out of nowhere,my wife was able to get me dressed,load me in the car and rush me to the emergency,where they put me on life support and worked on me for five hours before telling my wife they'ed done all they could.My wife wouldn't give up,she told them she wanted me taken to columbia,Mo. where they could try to do more the weather was to inclimate that day so they loaded my lifeless body in an ambulance and rushed me there(hour and half drive) my wife right on thier tail.Once in Columbia,they worked on me for quite a while,kept me on life-support for five more days because I still had brain activity,machines were keeping me breathing etc.After five days I all of sudden regained senses,started to come to have been siezure-free since

What an incredible story. Do the doctors have any answer as to why this occurred?

I'd like to thank all of you for the positive replies,other than this board and a few friends and my family I've never really expressed how this has affected me.I fear for my wife and my son and daughter that they never have to go thru this again.I've always been the big strong tuff guy and to know that this could happen again worries me for my loved ones.My neurologist and his staff call me the Miracle Man,because in most cases like mine he said most didn't survive or needed constant care.I guess it wasn't my time,or at least I feel it wasn't.Sometime I would like to really talk to others who are needing help or need someone to talk to about what they are going thru or are feeling,because it is a different life you will lead.I'm still active,play ball,hike in the woods,deerhunt with my son,work a very physical job,after being siezure-free for six months afterwards drive again,so you can cope with it.Just don't give up and think you can't do anything because it's not true.:rock:

Trials and tribulations. You've been through it all...Know that members here know just what your talking about and what you're feeling. CWE, as I see it, is a safe haven from the world wherein some people don't understand Epilepsy. You will enjoy exploring and participating in all the Forums and Member Groups. There is a door for everything. The Kitchen where you can discuss Epilepsy, Speber's Auditorium where you can hang out discuss all genres of music, The Padded Room where you can kick and scream, The Lemonade Stand where you playfully banter. And so many other "safe" doors. And then there a some Member Groups which offer free room to express just about everything.
