Hi! My name is Jordan and I was recently diagnosed with epilepsy in february of this year. I'm 15 and take Keppra and Topamax. I was eager to find a place to talk about my epilepsy. So, yeah. :)

Welcome Jordan, You've found a good place to talk bout E. here. CWE has nice people and lots of information. Take a look in the Loft where the teenagers hang out.

Welcome Jordan

The people here are great to talk to.... it was the only place I could talk about my seizures for the longest time & the people here are extremely supportive.

Hi hello

and how do you do? It's very nice to meet you!

This IS a really cool place to hang out......I am in several different forums, and prefer this one by far. Mr B, the host, has built us a really AWESOME home here. So feel free to check it out. Plenty of nooks and crannies in it.

What type of seizures do you have? I myself have t/c's (tonic clonics) as well as a few others thrown in. Trying to get control of your seizures is hard to do at first...and not an easy thing. Sometimes it means changing your diet, too (trust me I've done this.....for about 5 years now, and it HAS helped).

Feel free to hang around, kick up your feet, and check things out. We'll be here for ya. Trust me on that one, OK?

Take care,

Meetz

Hi Jordan! Welcome to CWE. :) Feel free to ask questions, chime in, or just vent when needed. :)

I, myself have tonic clonic, and have had a few absence seizures recently thrown in. These are so new for me that I am REALLY grateful for anything that I can learn about them :)

Hi Jordan
Just sent you a PM, but wanted to welcome you here.

My daughter was your age when she had her first seizure.
We have found that hers are due to an imbalance of nutrients and blood sugar levels.
We tried medication, but it made the matter worse. She was also told that it was not Epilepsy, but then told it was... doctors at times just don't know and are not willing to say that they don't know.

So I took matters into my own hands, so to speak, and have been monitoring and changing nutritional choices. Adding in needed vitamins and minerals, and she has done a year of neurofeedback. All which has helped to stabilize her and clear liver function, and balance sugar levels. We also have taken out all processed foods and drinks.

You can read more about it on my blog which is at the bottom of this page. If you are interested in Neurofeedback her story is also there as well.

Welcome Jordan! :hello:

I recently spent a few days in Washington DC with some young men about your age. They were quite inspirational. It is a challenge to fight epilepsy while being a teen. Please know that we are always here to listen of just to chat.

My E started 28 years ago when I was 20.
