Well, My name is Jordan. I have had epilepsy since feb. My last post was a post saying that I was doing well and had stopped having seizures. Well they had started up again in the middle of summer. My doctor has tried me on two different medicines, and has basically lost hope. I am now being referred to an Epileptologist. My first appointment is on the 30th of October. Im hoping that this new doctor knows the steps to take. I really would like to drive one of these days. Its hard having all my friends drive me around :P. Oh, and sorry for not posting much. Ive been busy with school. I am now homeschooled for this semester. So I will try to be on more :)

Hello Love!

Never met ya, but its nice to meet ya! If you need anything dont hesistate to ask. Im newly diagnosed but have done loads of research, and if I dont know the answer I can usually give you a personal experiance!

Good Luck!

Yup, i remember you Jordan. Was wondering why you hadn't been round in a while actually :D We may not have actually talked though:ponder:

Hi Dan, welcome back. I'm sorry the seizures started up again. I hope your appointment on the 30th gets things going in the right direction. Any clue to what provoked the seizures this summer (like dehydration or some particular activity)? Or was it just the meds stopping doing their thing?

Heeeey,

Welcome back Jordan.

Sorry to hear your seizures are back but you're lucky to have gotten a break from them at all. Hopefully your new epileptologist will be able to get you back to that point.

I do agree with Nakamova, start trying to figure out what provoked it. If you can find your triggers you may be able to avoid having more.

Hi Jordan,

I do remember you. Sorry to hear your seizures are back, but maybe seeing an epileptologist will help put a stop to them. I hope so.

Jordan!!!!

Hey there dude, welcome back!!! WE MISSED YOU!!! Sorry to hear the sucky news about the seizures, but it sounds to me as if your doc is giving up too early. Better that you're switching from the sounds of it.

Take care, and we'll be here for ya, no matter what!

Welcome back, Jordan - I wish you good luck with your new doctor. A lot of times, that can make a world of difference. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome backs! :) I have no clue what made them start back over the summer. My doctor did blood tests and said that my meds were too low, and just kept increasing. I guess the medicine just stopped working haha. I'm really hoping that this new doctor takes the time to work with me. Instead of treating my like a number (which I think is what my other doctor had a bit of a problem with)

Hey Jordan. I remember you too. :)

My wife is on her second medication right now so I know how it is to have to switch it up. Sometimes it takes some time to find the proper medication that not only stops the seizures but also is livable in terms of side effects.

I think it's a great thing you're going to see an epitologist. Doing so will likely get you the best care you can ask for. Especially since a specialist in E should be able to get you under control again and maybe even enough to get you driving. My wife is driving again after a year of not being able to, so don't give up hope!

Any possibility that you have been more proactive with making nutritional changes?

Jordan

Yes, I remember you. I'm in school and I work, so I know that finding time to post anything can be difficult.
Sorry to hear that your seizures have returned, but you are welcome to vent and scream in frustration here. We are your family.
Summer seems to be the time for forgetting nutritional choices, rest and hydration.
Talk to your new doctor about anything and everything that comes to mind. Jot down your questions on a piece of paper, and remember to take it with you.
Ask him about nutrition, rest, hydration, vitamins, adjunct therapy, stress, and keeping a journal among other things.
Good luck, and may you remain seizure free from now on.

welcome back, sorry to hear about your seizures. Good luck with your new doc and let us know how your appointment goes. I know since the short time that I have been diagnosed, I have had a few seizures. Neuro has been upping my meds and considering changing. You may need your levels checked.

Danjor, I remembered you also. That nickname does have an impact with your innocent image.

If they started up in the middle of the summer, I agree that maybe dehydration, low sugar, heat exhaustion, or a flu could be factors that altered absorption of the meds. It might be a good thing you stayed home for a few months. In PA, there are schools who already have people with swine flu, and you'd not want to be in that type of environment. I'm seriously thinking of the swine flu shot.

I imagine any rowdiness can lead to frustration after being confined to home. I'd be totally rowdy and frustrated by now. Nothing against others in your home, but it does feel great to get away occasionally for a fresh perspective. Are you allowed to go outside and play during recess?

Three words for you-- dont't give up. I've been through the same stuff and I also have an epileptologist and I haven't had a seizure in a year. Your doctor will help. And I also couldn't drive for around 2 years. I'm 22 and have been driving for a year and I always had my friends drive me around. I know it sucks, but you will get through it.

Welcome Jordan. Yeah some Dr's are like that. As a matter of fact my husband just switched Renal Dr's due to that problem. It's a real shame.
