This is just copied from a post I made on Epilepsy Action Australia Facebook page but haven't had any responses yet so would love to hear if anyone has any thoughts.

I woke up this morning with a dull but annoying and persistent headache. It was about 5:55am. I went out for dinner for my birthday last night but it wasn't a late one and I don't drink so it wasn't alcohol related. I've been eating regular meals so it wasn't that and I asked hubby if I grind my teeth in my sleep because I know i've seen my dad grind his teeth before so I thought maybe I do it too. Hubby said no, and my jaw isn't sore anyway. I did go back to sleep after only being up for about 5minutes and when I awoke at 8:15 I still had a headache. So, then I ate my breakfast and I go onto Headache Australia website which is an initiative of the Brain Foundation and they have description of just about every headache, such as hotdog headache, hangover, tension, post-traumatic etc etc but nothing - absolutely nothing about ictal. I didn't have a bitten tongue but honestly I don't remember ever having bitten anything (expect for my fathers and sisters fingers when they stuck them inside my mouth whilst seizing) during a seizure. My last known seizure was just upon waking (my son was a baby and I woke when he woke up crying but hubby said I looked like I was half asleep) and I had one when I was about 13 that was during the day but I think I was just drifting off to sleep. I wouldn't know if I ever had an actual sleeping seizure because I don't think i've ever been incontinent or anything like that during a seizure so aside from a headache and a fuzzy feeling in my head I don't have anything else. My neurologist has said before he doesn't think I need to worry about a sleep or ambulatory EEG but I am thinking that I should because not everybody has obvious seizures so how am I supposed to know what's going on, especially when I often go to sleep quite a while prior to my husband so who knows what happens when i'm in the room alone. I know i've previously had headaches in just about every instance (except I am not sure about the last time when my son was a baby) I have had pre-ictal headaches. I don't know if i ever had them post-ictal. I tried to set up my iPad to record my sleeping last week because I thought if I woke up and was ever not sure I could check it, but I couldn't figure it out because unless I leave the light on all it records is sound and blackness.

Then, this afternoon I commented again.....

Well, I had the headache for most the day. Had a 3 hour 'nap' this afternoon and woke still feeling a little off. Anyway, I thought perhaps if I went out and had a ride it would clear my head. I felt wobbly on my bike even though I haven't felt like that since before I was 5 years old - i've always been stable on a bike, even after long periods of not riding. Anyway, I don't currently have a headache but the only way I can describe it is to say that I have a strange feeling in my head

Anyway, it is now 10:30pm and feel tired but normal. I'm off to bed and hopefully in the morning will wake up without a headache.

Woke up with a headache again today. Didn't take meds last night so not sure if that has to do with it orifice it is even e related. My head is so sore but today my jaw is a little uncomfortable.

It's important to take the meds consistently, so it's important not to miss a dose. (abruptly stopping and starting can cause seizures.)
