Hey all. I know I've posted before, but I've never actually introduced myself. I am Mike and I've had epilepsy since I was 16 post two brain surgery. Anyways, was wondering if anyone ever had this incident happen to them. Right now I am currently on 600 mg of Lamictal and was on 200 mg of Topamax for years with great success, then I had a grand mal seizure to me and my neurologist's surprise, so she bumped me up to 300 mg of Topamax and for the past three days or so I have been locking up and shaking, staring straight ahead, yet i remain conscious and able to speak. Its as if I am about to go into a full blown grand mal but I don't. As each day passes, they get further apart and the duration is shorter and shorter. This has never happened to me before. Its either all or nothing.

Seems like a complex partial to me. Are you fully concious or only semi-aware?

Hi Mike, thats what my seizures usually all are. People around me at work always assume it will a grand mal, glad there are others with the same type. Hope all goes well.
