O.K. so I totally forgot about the whole no nut thing (diet) and had a couple of Brazillian nuts about an hour before bed last night. I ended up having 2 small seizures last night in my sleep. Today (during the day) I opted to have a couple more nuts not realizing that just MAYBE it was the nuts that caused the 2 seizures the night before. I ate a few nuts and within seconds I didn't feel right in the head. I can't explain it (not auras) but I just KNOW nuts are not good for the head or at least my head. Almost like I could feel the seizure activity, without seizing. Needless to say I threw them all away. Meanwhile, prior to learning about Gluten Free I did have the same reaction when my husband brought home ziti from the Italian restaurtant. I had about 3 spoonfuls and I felt the same sensation in my head as the nuts.

This is all truly NUTS!!! And I hear nuts are good for us. I guess what's good for one is not good for another. UGH At least I know now and I'm slowly but surely learning these triggers, but unfortunately I'm still seizing a lot in my sleep.

If you only need to forget this once to remind you not to eat any more nuts, you're doing quite good.

Thanks Epileric

I liked the comic you posted too. I'm not too happy these days with all the seizures so thanks for the smile. And yes I'm glad I figured out about the nuts. Good thing I'm not a huge fan of them and quite honestly only picked them up because I heard they're really good for you. It's no loss with the nuts since they're expensive anyway and I see it as I paid $20 for 2 seizures! :ponder: O.K. I'll go with $20 for a new learning :woot:

You kidding me?

Everytime I come on here I find FREE teachers and tutors. I guess I just forgot my homework when I bought those nuts.

Nuts are in the Top 5 allergy list, so maybe that's a factor for you. Or maybe they had some particular preservative that triggered you.

KelVar... not sure if your intestines are a problem, but what might be a sensitivity now, after healing might not be. It will take a while, so be patient, and eliminate anything that triggers that "feeling". You are being given some great indications that something is not right. Listen....

Many gluten free flours are made from nuts, so watch out. Brown rice flour is rather tasty, but if you don't rotate these occasionally you can develop a new sensitivity (so I have read). If you are that sensitive, check out www.celiac.com

Awww, Kelvar

we feel for ya, we really do. Trying to find things that we can eat, and not cause problems that fit within our diet just is a pain in the ARSE sometimes....

((((HUGS))))!!!
