Oh Oh My feet look fat suddenly, could this be the Meds?

Since all my life, they looked bony and skinny cause that's how i always been. And just today i looked down at my feet and they look fat like swollen or fatty. It's weird.
Anyone know what this is about? Or if it's related to Antiepileptic drugs or if it's some other condition ?

Hi niceguy. I've never experienced that before. Could you be bloated from something you ate or did you do a lot of standing? Maybe try putting your feet up for a little while to see if the swelling goes down.

Well i researched it in the web and it says Depakote side effects can be peripheral oedema( Swollen feet, hands, etc).
I guess i have to tell my doctor.

No i haven't stand up much lately cause i having problems walking.

So what happens when the Doctor sees that you having side effects? Do they stop your meds or change you different ones or just let you keep the current ones?

I have this with the medication I am on. Definitely reduce the salt intake, keep well-hydrated (including a glass of water before bed even though it is annoying to use the toilet in the middle of the night), and don't sit for too long without getting up and moving. Ideally walking, but anything will help: full body floor exercises, stretches, standing squats, marching in one spot . . . whatever you feel you can do.

As for what the doctor will do: sometimes they reduce the dose, but in my case the advice was the above and it does make a difference for me.
