I really do need to find my trigger for this now :(
4th day t/c upon waking i Dont understand it...i went bed early i exercised yesterday and i also ate really healthy .... And it still happens. :( my tongue is in shreds my washing machine is on overdrive cant keep up with having to wash bedding every day. ... Any suggestions Im at my wits end

I wake to a actual partial involving my mouth. It goes numb and starts over producing saliva then it will start to twitch/ go into spasm... Then it spreads down my arm then i lose consciousness then come round in a wet bed bloody pillows very sore all over and confused ect ...

Any one get this ????

Help me !?!

I haven't had anything last that long, but I sure feel for you! I hope you get some answers soon.

Sometimes the triggering process is cumulative, or hidden. Or the seizure threshold is low enough that little things can do it...

You've probably thought about all these, but here are suggestions: If you are seizing upon waking, that suggests that you aren't sleeping well. Have you ever had a sleep study? Do you have any breathing issues? Do you wake up naturally or do you use an alarm? Have you been tested for any nutritional deficiencies? What time do you take your meds? Do you eat anything close to bedtime? How warm is your bedroom?

hi nak :)

1)ive never had a sleep study done never thought to ask
2)i do have breathing issues i have asthma and use two inhalers through the day
3)i first get woken up by alarm at around 5am thats my boyfriends alarm going off and then i kinda cat-nap inbetween the partials and then finally give up and get up at about 8am
4)im not sure what you mean by nutritional deficiencies ... do you mean like magniesium and vitamins etc ? ive had them checked and the only thing wrong was my thyroid... my thyroid is underactive so im on levothyroxine tables for that
5)i have started to eat peanut butter on toast before bedtime cause i thought/and was told my blood sugar may have been crashing in the night i saw some improvement the first few days of eating it before bed ...
6)my bedroom is just average warmt... not cold and not hot .. just nice

OH man. I feel for you. I often get my partials upon wakening but nothing to the extent that you get.
Your poor body has a lot going on.

hugs to you. I wish I could take some of the stress and frustration away.
I wish we could all have fairy godmothers or miracles or even a vacation away from seizures every now and then.

yes the nutritional item was about vitamins like magnesium and issues like blood sugar. It sounds like you're all set there -- the peanut butter on toast sounds like an excellent idea. And it's making me hungry :)

Levothyroxine can lower seizure threshold, so there may be something going on there. I know the thyroid is a tricky thing to mess with, but you might want to be re-evaluated to see if there's any chance you can lower your dose.

If you are having breathing issues when you sleep, that could also be affecting your sleep quality and making you more vulnerable when you wake up in the morning. You might want to ask about that sleep study. And if there's any way you can experiment with wearing ear plugs so your boyfriend's alarm clock doesn't disturb you, that might be worth a try too.
