I was suppost to have an RNS surgery last Tuesday. The hospital called the day before and had to reschedule it for 2 weeks later because his baby had come early and he didn't want to do any surgeries the day after because he'd been up all night. I was pretty mad and upset because I'd been ready to have my head cut open and now I'm going to have to wait another 2 weeks.

I got a call from my actual neuro surgeon this afternoon apologizing for this! I couldn't believe it! I don't think I've ever gotten a call from a surgeon or dr (even my PCP), about anything!

I changed neruos and hospitals and they are completely different than the other one. I had a question about the surgery and emailed the office yesterday in the afternoon. I got a phone call and text message back about two hours later with the answer! If this would have been my old neuro I probably wouldn't have gotten a reply until Monday, if even that soon.

Hi Val,

I'm so sorry that the Dr. canceled your surgery. The same thing happened to me yrs. ago when I was going to have
the laser surgery done. I was all set to go in but then the Drs. went on strike until they got their contract settled so I
went to a different hospital and I'm glad I did.

You may want to check out healthgrades.com to check out any reviews on the neurosurgeon and see if this has happened
before. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You,

Sue

It sounds like your doctor (and team) are very considerate.

Did I understand correctly that you just gave birth to a child? Congratulations!

No my doctor's wife had a baby. I looked and didn't really type it right. All I have are cats. Thank you though. 😆

Doctors are human, not robots. I understand your point of view being frustrated but I also understand his wife going into labor unexpected as a child will let you know when they are ready for this world. That was quite kind and professional for the neurosurgeon to phone you providing an apology in my opinion.
