Pain meds don't work for me. When I have a seizure I'll have a horrible headache after. My neuro gave me butal but it didn't seem to do a thing. I just lay there with an ice pack on my head till it goes away.
I've had back problems for years and the dr give me vicodin for it and it never worked. I started seeing a chiropractor for my back which has helped extreamly. I asked him about the pain meds and he said that some people have a higher tolerance for them than others do. It could also be because of the epilepsy too.
I don't abuse them, only take them when needed (which is maybe a few times a year), and how they were pescribed. I pretty much gave up on them when I realized they weren't doing anything for me.
I'm having a root canal later this week and I know it's going to hurt so is there anything that someone might suggest that I could talk to the dr about giving me?
